Founded in 2024, Green Bear is the culmination of years of experience in the higher education and charitable sectors. Based in York and online, Green Bear is here to support your writing practice, whether it’s creative, academic or just for fun.
With over 15 years of educational experience, Lucy trained as a retreat facilitator with Dr Rowena Murray in 2020. Since then she has run retreats for organisations such as the British Library, and facilitates a global writing support group as part of her work with the Society for Medieval Feminist Scholarship.
Lucy is a pedagogical expert and research professional. She holds a PhD in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh. Lucy is a published academic author of a number of papers and chapters, and her first book is due for publication in 2026. She is based in York, by way of Scotland and Canada, and spends her days working in all things Wikimedia.
